Introduction
The Pride Go-Go Elite Traveler is a popular choice among mobility scooters for those needing convenience and portability.
Designed for easy travel, this scooter aims to help users stay active both indoors and outdoors.
Below is a closer look at its features, usability, and what real users have shared about their experiences.
We review the product in the video below:
Portability and Design
The Go-Go Elite Traveler is built for quick disassembly into five lightweight pieces.
This feature makes it manageable for transport in car trunks or for storage in small spaces.
The heaviest piece, usually the front section, weighs about 35 pounds.
Many users find this manageable, though some note it may still be heavy for individuals with limited strength.
The scooter comes in both three-wheel and four-wheel versions.
The three-wheel model offers a tighter turning radius, which is helpful in narrow spaces.
Meanwhile, the four-wheel option provides extra stability for outdoor use.
Interchangeable colored shrouds let users customize the scooter’s appearance, adding a personal touch.
Maneuverability and Comfort
Users often praise the scooter’s maneuverability, especially indoors or in crowded areas.
The turning radius of around 33-37 inches allows easy navigation around tight corners and furniture.
An adjustable tiller and a comfortable, swivel seat help improve overall user comfort.
However, the ride can feel firm on uneven outdoor surfaces since the scooter does not have built-in suspension.
This is more noticeable when used on bumpy sidewalks or gravel paths.
For smooth indoor floors or paved pathways, users report a comfortable ride.
From my experience, while on the scooter, I was able to turn so tight.
It felt as if I could turn around while staying in the same spot- that’s how tight that turning was.
Also, I have a friend who has a paralyzed arm, I’m not sure if it’s her left or her right, but the turning on this scooter is so easy that my friend can drive it with no problem with only one arm.
Compared to the iTravel Plus, the maneuverability was so much better and more comfortable in this Mobility scooter.
We’ve been searching for a lightweight, portable electric scooter with a full-size seat, and so far, this is the only one we’ve found.
Battery and Range
The Go-Go Elite Traveler typically comes with two 12Ah batteries, which offer a range of about 6 to 7 miles per charge.
An optional 18Ah battery pack can extend this range to around 10 to 12 miles.
Users appreciate the off-board charging capability, which means the battery pack can be charged separately from the scooter.
This feature can be helpful for those who find it difficult to bring the entire scooter indoors for charging.
It’s important to note that battery performance varies depending on factors like user weight, terrain, and driving habits.

Weight Capacity and Usage
The scooter supports a weight capacity of up to 300 pounds.
Many users find it sturdy for everyday activities like shopping, doctor visits, or short trips outdoors.
However, it’s not intended for rough terrain or extended outdoor adventures.
The solid tires are puncture-proof, but they may transmit more vibrations compared to air-filled tires.
Overall, users consider it a reliable option for daily errands and local outings.

Airline Travel
Can mobility scooters be checked in as baggage with airlines?
Mobility scooters can be checked in as baggage with airlines. Most airlines accommodate passengers with mobility aids, including mobility scooters, which can be checked at the ticket counter or at the departure gate. These devices do not count toward your standard baggage allowance and are typically transported free of charge.
The Go-Go Elite Traveler is often advertised as airline-friendly due to its sealed lead-acid batteries.
Some users have traveled successfully with this scooter, appreciating how easily it disassembles for transport.
Others advise confirming battery size and weight restrictions with the airline beforehand.
Key requirements and steps:
-
Notify the airline in advance about traveling with a mobility scooter, as each airline may have specific requirements regarding size, weight, and battery type.
-
Battery regulations: For scooters with lithium-ion batteries, the battery may need to be removed and carried in the cabin, depending on the airline and battery specifications.Non-spillable batteries (like dry cell or gel) are generally preferred and may remain installed if the scooter is stowed upright and the terminals are protected.
-
Check-in process: You can usually ride your scooter to the gate and then have it checked just before boarding (gate check), or check it at the ticket counter.
-
Upon arrival: Your scooter will typically be returned to you at the aircraft door or in the baggage claim area.
Important tips:
-
Clearly label your scooter with your name and contact information.
-
Take photos of your scooter before and after the flight to document its condition in case of damage during transport.
-
Arrive early to allow extra time for check-in and any special handling required.
Always check with your specific airline for detailed instructions and requirements before traveling.
User Reviews
User reviews are generally positive, highlighting portability and ease of use as significant advantages.
Some users say the scooter has restored independence, allowing them to participate more in community life.
Others mention that while it’s easy to break down, lifting the heaviest piece still requires some strength.
From Norco customers, feedback has included both praise and concerns.
One user mentioned receiving a different model than expected, resulting in tipping issues.
Another user said the scooter handled grass and sand better than expected.
Others praised the turning radius and how easily drivers placed the scooter into car trunks.
Despite some mixed feedback, many people report high satisfaction with the Go-Go Elite Traveler for everyday use.
For me personally, this scooter is by far the most comfortable, roomiest, and best-performing scooter I have used.
Final Thoughts
The Pride Go-Go Elite Traveler offers a strong balance of portability, maneuverability, and reliability.
It’s an excellent option for those seeking a scooter that’s easy to transport and store.
While it may not suit rough terrain or long-distance travel, it remains a popular choice for daily errands and short trips.
Anyone considering this scooter should test it for comfort and confirm details like battery range and airline requirements.
With thoughtful use, the Go-Go Elite Traveler can help maintain independence and mobility for many users.
